Shannon-

I grew up in Michigan playing outdoors year-round.  I spent all of my school years in Girl Scouts developing my love of nature.  It is there I learned outdoor survival skills and respect for the power and beauty of nature all year round.  I had a desire to conquer the hills of snow every winter so I started a school ski club that is still in place today for the middle and high school levels.  For three years I went every week with the club, taking lessons and developing my downhill skiing skills.  I challenged myself to enjoy the peaceful side of cross-country skiing in our local parks as well.  That confidence and perseverance continues with me to this day with all other areas of my life.

While living in Colorado, I took those skills to the next level with ‘real’ mountain powder snowboarding.  The beauty of nature as I swooshed my way down the mountainside was magical.  I’ve also enjoyed some of the smaller mountains in New York State. 

I look forward to traveling around the globe to experience even more.  Along the way, I expect to soon learn to board in order to keep up with my husband, Jimmy, and our daughter.  She is three, but ready to go!

Jimmy-

There is nothing more beautiful than untracked snow field.  It brings piece to my heart and I can think of nothing better than lay down first tracks in it.  All though my auspicious beginnings on the mean slopes of Boston Mills/Brandywine ski area in Ohio it gave me the understanding I needed to ski/board in the worst conditions.  It also gave me the appreciation of big mountain riding. 

From that first taste of deep powder I was hooked and that began my quest to ride pretty much every snowboard resort in North America.  And, if that wasn’t enough I went ahead and got a job at ski/snowboard shop and then at a snowboard resort.  Throughout my tenure in the Ski and Snowboard industry I have owned my own Ski and Snowboard shop and worked as a travel professional in the Airline industry.  Crossing these two industries gives me an understanding of the needs and desires of those that are on a quest to slide and ride.  Weather two planking it or ripping it up on a fat all mountain board it is what I live for. 

By default I have obtained many different credentials within the ski industry.  PSIA instructor, professional ski boot fitter, snowboard park designer/builder, groomer and that’s just to name a few.  It seems like yesterday I was arguing with my mom not to join ski club, now 20+ years later I couldn’t be happier to be part of an industry I love and serving like minded people that want to travel to amazing snowy destinations around the globe.
